Representative Levin Statement on Supreme Court’s Census Question Decision

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) issued the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s decision on the United States Department of Commerce v. New York case:

“Today’s Supreme Court decision on the Trump administration’s politically-motivated citizenship question is a win for all Americans who believe in fair and accurate representation. However, the administration could still attempt to add this misguided question to the census, and we must continue to speak out on behalf of roughly 6.5 million people in underrepresented communities who could be undercounted. We also have a responsibility to encourage all of our neighbors to participate in the census, and I will continue to do that moving forward.”
