Rep. Mike Levin Votes on Resolution to Advance President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA), issued the following statement on the House adoption of S. Con. Res. 14, A Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2022:

“I am pleased with the passage of the budget resolution to advance President Biden’s Build Back Better Act. With support from this resolution, we can adequately address the bold provisions needed to address the climate crisis in the upcoming bipartisan infrastructure package. We can fix our roads, bridges, and waterways, but if we don’t consider climate resiliency in our infrastructure plans, all the efforts with be for naught. Every day that we ignore the climate crisis in our plans, the worse the consequences will be down the road.”

“For the first time in decades, we can deliver on real, tangible climate action that benefits both our planet’s health and the livelihoods of our constituents. This historic investment will also deliver on job creation for Americans across the nation with millions of transformative careers in the clean energy sector, benefitting both the planet and our economy.”

“This is our opportunity to make investments in life-changing initiatives for working families, the economy and our children. With passage of this budget resolution, we can now take a key step forward in creating resilient infrastructure that will sustain our nation for generations to come, and I will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure this forthcoming bill is commensurate with the enormous climate challenges we continue to face.”

The 2022 budget resolution provides instructions to 13 House and 12 Senate committees to advance the Build Back Better Act. It instructs these committees to report legislation consistent with these budgetary targets to the Budget Committee by September 15.
